Dalton—As part of its ongoing focus on building a purpose-driven and people-first culture, Novalis Innovative Flooring has welcomed Damian Childress, a U.S. Army veteran, through the “Hiring Our Heroes” corporate fellowship program.

“Veterans bring leadership, adaptability and a deep sense of purpose,” said John Wu, president and CEO of Novalis. “We’re honored to be part of this transition and excited about what’s ahead for Damian.”

Hiring Our Heroes connects highly skilled service members with civilian employers during the final 180 days of their military service, helping them gain hands-on experience and prepare for long-term career success.

Childress brings nine years of experience in the U.S. Army, most recently serving on the White House Communications Team, a role he was selected for through a rigorous and competitive process. As an Information Technology Specialist, he brings a strong foundation in cybersecurity and infrastructure—skills he’s now applying to strengthen Novalis’ evolving IT systems.

Childress holds a bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity and Networking and several industry-recognized certifications. His addition to the team reflects Novalis’ commitment to creating space for diverse, experienced professionals who want to make an impact beyond their previous roles.

By participating in programs like Hiring Our Heroes, Novalis continues to build a workplace where innovation thrives through inclusion, mentorship, and meaningful opportunity.
